Yung Jewelz Raises The Altitude With "Higher" Video | @ThePaidHipster @Dolla_Black_ @SoSavvyWitIt @TheVitaminCea

2018 has been a strong year for The Paid Hipster, Yung Jewelz, and that doesn't look to stop any time soon. With the Jackson, Mississippi native releasing her "Earth Day" EP earlier in 2018 she continues to keep her foot on the gas with a new video release. It comes for the most popular record of all off the aforementioned project, "Higher".

The M-Dub directed visual allows Jewelz to shine alongside a bevvy of heavy hitters from the Magnolia State. Not only are featured artists Savvy, Dolla Black and Vitamin Cea all apart of it, but quite a few of your other indie artists from the region join in on the fun. The summer vibes of the single are matched with a visual that captures its essence.

Live from the rooftop of the King Edwards Hotel, the scenery is perfect for the elevated activities described in the single. The locale, party atmosphere and of course a jamming record all combine to make the video an experience you shouldn't miss. Peep it now.

Judson Wright - Palm Trees

Mississippi's Judson Wright is still very young in his career as a solo musician, but sometimes youth means very little in comparison to quality. This is very much the case for Judson with his new single "Palm Trees". You would be hard pressed to find a comparable sound, as the musician's knack for genre-bending sounds shines brightly. Infectious hooks, meaningful lyrics, and self-production drive the single.

Within the message of Palm Trees is an expression of a man at his breaking point. Judson Wright both raps and sings, full of anxious excitement, about denying dissatisfaction and breaking through depression to pursue his full potential. It's seldom that you will find a song that balances both being extremely catchy and carrying such a message of positivity that people need to hear. This is just the second release from Judson Wright, with "Original"  dropping prior to it.

Dolla Black ft. Fred Nice - Money

Now we all know that cash isn't everything, but you certainly cannot live without it. Jackson, Mississippi's Dolla Black keeps this in mind as he releases his new summer single "Money". On the track, Dolla documents his hustler's mindstate and how focused he is on attaining the bag. The catchy single comes just in time for summer and is one that the accomplished MC feels is some of his best music yet.

Money is one of those records that I KNEW was gonna reach new levels when I put the final mix on it ... it had that feeling. Fred did the heavy lifting as far as the hook and concept and all I had to do was make sure to not drop the ball on the verses. Definitely one of my favorite to date. - Dolla Black

Joining Dolla on the record, is Oxford, Mississippi artist, Fred Nice, who also produces the single. It comes as the lead-off to the June 15th "Still Black" EP, which is to be distributed through LyfeStyle Entertainment, Bungalo Records and Universal Music Group.

Jo'De BOY - 8: New Beginnings & Lost Chapters | @JoDeBOY

jode-boy-8-new-beginnings

With the start of 2018 in full swing, everyone's mind seems to be on new opportunities and bettering themselves. Such is the case for Jackson, MS-based MC Jo'De Boy but not as much because of the calendar year. A life filled with trials and tribulations has led him to become a better version of himself than there has ever been and this is evident on his new project "8: New Beginnings."

Lined with narration from poet Amanda Furdge, the full-length album takes us into the mind of Jodeci Mayfield as a person and Jo'De Boy the artist. A certain duality of struggles and victories line not only the artwork but also the music contained. Vocally Jo'De sets himself apart with a sharp flow, unique tone and a strong lyrical presence. Stream his short film that debuted just before the album's release, Lost Chapters the album is available on all streaming services.

Q.Z. Tha Leader "Balloons in the Wind" | .@QZThaLeader

qz-tha-leader-balloons-in-wind
The art of storytelling is resurrected with Q.Z.Tha Leader’s latest single Balloons In Tha Wind. The gritty drum work quantifies the sonics from hip-hop’s golden age.

This record is a nod to those crate digging, analog days. When music was meant to be felt, rather than heard. This is a record about letting go of something you love, in order to move forward.

ray-kincaid-dolla-black-drop-ultra-instinct
Two of Jackson, Mississippi's strongest lyricists in Ray Kincaid and Dolla Black, link up for a sparring session on "Ultra Instinct". The anime-influenced single is one that is true to the essence of hip-hop.

Both Kincaid and Dolla hold nothing back, giving their unabashed opinions on why they own a spot near the top of the indie rap ladder. Look for more from both artists as 2018 kicks off but for now be sure to put this one in your rotation.

"This track has been tucked away for almost a year now. I was excited to release this because I felt like people would finally understand so much. If I could at least get people to LISTEN to the music. Sit back and focus on what I'm saying. Then, maybe we can start a true movement. A movement for change."

@TheVitaminCea "Humble" (Freestyle)

Vitamin Cea has been a bit quiet as of late, focusing on pushing her debut project JoyFull Noise. Today she changes that with her new rendition of Kendrick Lamar's hit single "Humble". Cea takes the beat and shows a bit more of an aggressive side than what we've heard from her to date.

Vitamin Cea is back with her The Walls Group-sampling single "JoyFull Perfection". The Mississippi-born femcee continues to show her versatility by taking this opportunity to release a song that could very easily fall into the gospel genre. She lays strong verses centered around her flaws and relationship with God, with a melodic chorus adding to the song's aura. Joining her on the record with background vocals is Mastad0n, NeoSoooul and Elias. Listen now and if you like what you hear check out her website
www.TheVitaminCea.com for more music and information on Vitamin Cea ahead of her debut project "JoyFull Noise"

Bio

Birthed in the deep south, Vitamin Cea is one of Mississippi’s newest acts but one that possess the talent to stick to your soul. Taking inspiration from artists like Chance The Rapper, Noname, Anderson .Paak, Rapsody and others Cea hangs her hat on a sound rooted in honesty, soul and overall good vibes. She saturates her melodic bars in stories of lessons and memories just as often as she rhymes about her confusion, adoration, and disdain for the world around her. Her artistry is apparent as she is a rapper who takes pride in the art of writing in its purest form and it shows in her elaborate usage of literary devices in every song. Rappers come and go but Vitamin Cea is here to prove that she, just as many emerging artists from Mississippi, is here to cultivate the culture and make her name known.

@BpaceProduction "BELLY' | Video

bpace-belly-video

Bpace has been on a roll as of late, stepping out from behind the camera, and dropping a lot more records, like this "BELLY" record. He recently released Backwoods and Burritos and has since been on tour, all over the world. Not long in length, the video and record are still solid in their presentation and their ability to keep you engaged throughout. Check out the video below and other records found on Bpace's latest release and let us here at Beats Bang Blog know what you think.
