Taiyamo Denku - No Industry Standard (Album) @TaiyamoDenku @dcypha

The seasoned Milwaukee beat bruiser, Taiyamo Denku, makes his triumphant return to your headphones with the full length album, "No Industry Standard". Consisting of 16 tracks in total, Denku and Dcypha once again combine their musical powers to put forth an all around quality Hip Hop extravaganza. The pair continue to go against the grain of so called industry standards, funding the project out of their own pockets and completely independent. Keeping the entire album process in house allowed the duo to orchestrate some heavy features.

Fans of the Cypha Den Music imprint know very well that you can expect some impressive guests on their releases. We can find the lyricist bashing mics alongside the likes of Conway The Machine, Saukrates, Lil Kim, Chino XL, Royal Flush, J Hood, KRS One, and Benny the Butcher.

The names alone are enough reasoning for checking the album out. Don't think for a minute that Denku is the type of artist that bases his career off of features. The Wisco wordsmith has proven his skills time and time again, whether it be inside of a cypher or performing on a vast amount of stages. He sets up all his own tours and has taken his act all across the Midwest and East Coast. As with his skills, Taiyamo has an extensive back catalog both as a solo artist and holding his own among Hip Hop's most predominant acts.

"No Industry Standard" has seen 2 singles and 1 video released so far. The lead single, "Be Who You Are", finds Conway and Taiyamo candidly speaking about faking the funk from two different points of view. "Fabulous Life" features the R&B styling of The Genius with the Midwesterner and Lil Kim speaking about what a "Fabulous Life" consists off. "Stand Back" was produced by Psycho Les of The Beatnuts, this release received a salt and peppered visual from Wes Tank. More singles will be released from the album in the coming months along with a video for "Mr. Sunshine", featuring Saukrates.

Make sure to stay tuned for that but in the meantime, preview and purchase "No Industry Standard" on Bandcamp.

Ayoo Cheveyo - "Comeupits" @AyooCheveyo (Album)

Unbeknownst to most, the music scene out of Chicago contains way more than just rapid fire rhymes and Drill. The underground Hip Hop scene has been flourishing for years and only continues to grow. One of those artists emerging from within goes by the name of Ayoo Cheveyo. He just recently released the second installment of the four-part "Ayoo Cheveyo Presents" series.

The concept all brewed from a screen play he wrote prior to the idea. The album contains a whopping nineteen songs in total with standout cuts "The Block Forgot Him Longer" and "Rock Ya' Body". For "Comeupits", Cheveyo paints true life scenarios inspired by his move from Chicago to Madison. We find him coming to terms with people and things he left behind there as well. Hip Hop heads and smokers will especially take a liking to Ayoo due in part to his easy going flow and airy production selections. Check it out for yourself and feel free to download a free copy of "Comeupits" afterward.

New Album: @ThatsBlawesome & @H0T16 - TEASE (Album) | @theliquidbeat

From Portland’s burgeoning music scene comes a creative statement in the form of “Tease”, the full-length collaborative album by singer-songwriter Blossom and producer HOT16.

Meticulously thought out in every detail, “Tease” shows the work of two sophisticated artists making their mark with an expertly written, performed, and produced LP that will undoubtedly find its way into your home and heart.

What started as a single guest feature quickly transformed into a full 8-song joint venture when it became instantly clear that the two artists brought out the best in each other. Blossom’s poetic lyrics and emotive tones meld effortlessly around HOT16’s unique production.

Strong, black, and imbued with magic, Blossom shows depth & feeling in every note while HOT16’s soulful tracks work as the perfect backdrops for her beautiful odes to identity, empowerment, love, and its accompanying heartache.

With a multitude of styles reflected on the album, each song can rightfully stand on its own. However, “Tease” is best understood within the context of the whole, as genres are allowed to meld together and a larger narrative unfolds. Take note, as the album is both a sonic world unto itself, as well as only a Tease of what’s to come.

Izzy Strange (@ishestrange) - A Good Day 2 B The Bad Guy (Album)

Pennsylvania-based emcee Izzy Strange lets loose a slew of intricate syllables on his latest project, "A Good Day 2 B The Bad Guy".

Aside from lyricism, Strange showcases his abilities to craft commercial singles such as with "Real Love" featuring Taylyn. His antihero approach to song crafting can be found on the first two tracks of the album, "Story To Tell" and "Making Movies". Taking close to a year to orchestrate, the Beasley's Corner Bodega frontman combined the Grammy Award winning sounds of Nate Fox and hometown beat phenom, Casa Nada, for the instrumentation.

He then took it a step farther by landing guest features from some of his favorite artists such as Blu, Mick Jenkins and Open Mike Eagle. Izzy has released six singles and three videos from the album thus far. He recently announced another upcoming visual for the Blu-assisted "At Home" single Shot on location in California. The fifteen track project can be heard on Soundcloud, streamed via Spotify and purchased from iTunes.

PUOYA (@Pouyalilpou) - The Underground Underdog

PUOYA kneeling on stage with a microphone

In some respects, Pouya’s music personifies him as a grimy young rapper, but his polarizing lyrics and unapologetic nature makes him one of the hottest young artists of the year. Reinforcing the 90s vibe, his dungeon inspired Bone Thugs & Harmony style has helped him to develop a loyal and international following.

Pouya's music is volatile and controversial, but he has the potential of being INFAMOUS!

Pouya's track “Great Influence” starts with the infamous line, "I'ma Kill This Bitch"

(Album)-@sourmouth100 "A Million Little Pieces"

Portland emcee Sourmouth is proud to present his full length sophomore LP, "A Million Little Pieces". The album consists of twenty-one songs in total and features fan favorites "Lost My Mind", the PDX anthem "In The Rose City" and the club smash, "Ayo". The project title and concept are loosely based around the controversial James Frey novel that was initial thought to be based on real life events, even being initiated into Oprah Winfrey's prestige book club. However, Frey's tale was exposed as being doctored which ultimately lead him to exile.

Sourmouth uses "A Million Little Pieces" to tell his own life story, which shares striking similarities to Frey's tale and then some. Songs like "Because I'm Black", "Leave Him Behind" and "Watch My Temper" share personal moments and show a new side to his notoriously known shock rap approach. With the extensive tracklisting, there's a little something for everyone on "A Million Little Pieces". The album and some of it's official videos can be found on Sourmouth's Bandcamp page, with the album being featured below.
