Young RJ + Phat Kat + Guilty Simpson Drop "I Know"

young-rj-phat-kat-guilty-simpson-i-know

Coming off the heels of his successful freshman release “Blaq Royalty”,  and his single feat. Joyner Lucas titled “Motion”, Young RJ now releases his first single this year called, “I Know.” The street conscious track sets up his new release, "The Detroit Project" - where fans can expect a full collaboration with Guilty Simpson and Phat Kat. All being respected legends from Detroit. The album is produced by Young RJ and expected to drop soon.

"I Know” discusses the issues arising from Black Men being products of their environment. Due to the intricate economic systems put in place, Black men have been set up to fail from the womb (or beginning). Many feel this is a controversial topic, with a lot of truth behind it. A particular verse that stands out is, “wanna see a ni*ga fail, they wanna see me dead or in jail.” - Young RJ.

Have a listen to the new single "My Negus" by Detroit rapper, ZotheJerk featuring legendary Random Axe frontman Guilty Simpson

This record is the second one to be taken from Zo's new album "Black Beach" produced entirely by Frost Gamble, a prolific beatmaker originally from NY State but now based in Winnipeg, and follows "Risk vs Reward" featuring Sadat X.

Set to be released on May 26th, the album also features KXNG Crooked, Boldy James, Young Bleed and Tone Chop.  Politically charged, the themes are Zo's perspective on today's "Black America", an MC in receipt of a "Humanitarian of the Year" award for mentoring work in the community.  The quality is not lost on internationally renowned print publication MOJO Magazine who will feature "Black Beach" in their June issue.
