With the start of 2018 in full swing, everyone's mind seems to be on new opportunities and bettering themselves. Such is the case for Jackson, MS-based MC Jo'De Boy but not as much because of the calendar year. A life filled with trials and tribulations has led him to become a better version of himself than there has ever been and this is evident on his new project "8: New Beginnings."
Lined with narration from poet Amanda Furdge, the full-length album takes us into the mind of Jodeci Mayfield as a person and Jo'De Boy the artist. A certain duality of struggles and victories line not only the artwork but also the music contained. Vocally Jo'De sets himself apart with a sharp flow, unique tone and a strong lyrical presence.
