Subtly, the word "bruh" has secured itself into the human lexicon, as a viable replacement for "brother," much like the overly used "bro" at some point, and now thanks to a new viral hit, has just found its new trajectory towards our airwaves. It's really rare that a Hip-Hop record experiences instant viral success, from a Mississippi artist, but Lil' Twon proves it can be done. His debut release, "Bruh,"quickly sky-rocketed the Jackson, Mississippi rapper to instant fame, through the quickly growing Iphone app, Musical.ly, which allows users to create selfie videos and discover new content, in a fun and challenging way. Following the success of having over 30,000 fan-generated videos between Musical.ly, Vine, and Instagram, 500,000 SoundCloud streams, 40,000 Shazam searches, and nearly 1,000,000 YouTube views, Lil' Twon released the official music video for the "Bruh."
“It was dope to shoot my first video in my hometown of Jackson, MS.
It was amazing to see all the love and support I got from everyone back home.”
- Twon
The record also features a verse by Twon's cousin, Playa Gator, and is a solid debut for the pair. The video, shot by Dread, showcases the rapper, along with images of others having a good time and dancing to the infectious hook, "Bruh," Another addition to the visuals is the ever-present clips of fans, using the Musical.ly app, doing their own lip-synch rendition, of the song, in self-shot videos.
