Liberian-born recording artist and former Kansas City Linebacker, Tamba Hali, released the latest Relumae Records single “Swag” from Liberian superstar Faithvonic featuring Tamba Hali. The Masterkraft-produced track finds Tamba and Faithvonic vibing to the heavily percussive Afrobeat soundscape. The video which had its broadcast premiere with BET International, beautifully captures the country of Liberia, as almost all of Tamba’s videos do. “Swag” is the second single from Tamba’s upcoming project LIBERIA, a compilation featuring entirely Liberian artists, released via Relumae Records. “Swag” is available everywhere now.
On the new track, Tamba says: "I’ve never worked with such a talented individual like Faithvonic, she’s very artistic from her wardrobe to her music, and I love her ambition about philanthropic work. I was excited to be working with her the entire time, going around a different radio station in Liberia promoting the music. I believe people will start to take notice of Liberian music because it has a distinct taste and it sets itself apart from the entire Africa, because of how the language is spoken.”
““Swag” comes fresh off the heels of “Latido,” the first new single from Tamba Hali since the release of his beautifully shot “Girl Like U” video. Shot in Liberia, the video cinematically captures the countries captivating beaches. Through working with Liberian artists on the upcoming Relumae Records EP, and continuing to shoot videos in Liberia, Tamba is aiding in the reinvigoration of the Liberian economy and its arts community one collaboration at a time.
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma native and National DJ, DJ Navi releases his latest record entitled "SYGA" (Since You've Gone Away) featuring Embrae Le Veen, Che$$ Not Checkers and Cheezy. "SYGA" was produced by Scoota Beats, and it shows true lyricism, melodic flow and one hell of a show!
A lot of us don't rely on news sources like Fox and CNN to find out what the temperature of the streets are, for that we have an artist like Only1Hunnet to look to for that. The Michigan artist album entitled "Rakkin" runs for forty minutes but it's an easy forty filled with hard trap beats, smooth melodies and straight bars when it's called for. Keeping it light on the features he only has a handful from artists such as Tank Baby, Neighborhood and label mate Dre Mac. Each artist held their own against the featured artist. The album talks about things from the street life we all know but he also gets deeper on songs like "Goons" for example when he states that his son gets mad whenever he grabs his jacket. This is real rap, real emotions. Get with it. It also features his single entitled "Light Green", make sure you check out that official music video on YouTube.

I myself was on 2.5 grams maybe more I don’t know. Anyways, the whole day was a vibe I’ve been needing at that point of my career. Shoutout West Palm for the feels and Ft. Lauderdale w/ the fire shrooms."

D Prime 215 returns
for the 2nd video release of his “Sacred Mantra” EP. “Reasons
Why” produced by Has-Lo, is
a tell-all into Prime’s world of emceeing, dating back to 93’.
“Every artist has
their “Reasons Why” they create. Some for the sake of it, as a means to an end,
tell stories, impress others, or all the above. For me, it’s all the above.
However, as I grow as a person it inevitably bleeds into my music. There’s a
lot going on in the world that affects me in a way that may be different from
others. It’s inevitable that I address it. Especially in my city of
Philadelphia. Let it be gentrification, school closings, “misallocation” of
funds for public schools & inner city, crime, questioning the prison
system, or the school to prison pipeline to name a few. I see these things
firsthand, and I wanted to make it evident that Philly is a lot more than
merely cheesesteaks and the Liberty Bell. It’s Philly all day over here, the presentation
may be different from what you’re used to. It’s more than simply “rap” to me,
that being said I was out for blood on this.” – D Prime 215
The Philly native utilizes his mastered skillset of storytelling
to embody the world around him, ongoing societal issues, as well as what he
represents. In “Reasons Why” Prime
vividly portrays reasons for putting his life into the pen and being a voice
for those on the other side of the fence. Bar for bar he breaks down
gentrification, tainted school systems, inner-city crime hidden behind Philly’s
tourist attractions, and other community distresses.
Has-Lo’s intense piano keys blended with soulful bass and drums
invite listeners to feel the emotion and vibrations from Prime’s polished and
compelling storytelling. Watch “Reasons
Why” and connect with D Prime 215 and Has-Lo below.
