@CertifiedOutfit Ft @lilsonny4 - "Down 2 Ride" (Video)

Spokane, Washington dual effort Certified Outfit presents the official video for "Down 2 Ride", featuring chorus assistance from King Sonny. An ideal record for late night cruising, Swindle and Church exercise potent wordplay over a saucy West Coast themed instrumental, also self-produced by Church. With high expectations already set within their circle, Certified lands a one-two punch with the accompanying video presentation.

Landoe for Vivid Visual Films utilizes a dusky skyline to open the visual with that is preceded by pretty woman, old school cars and a house party environment. That on top of Outfit's performance gives viewers vivid clarity of what it actually means to be certified. With the video debut, an announcement was also made stating that the fellas are planning to drop not one but two projects. One is a mixtape by the name of "Bulletproof Love" and the other is a sequel to their previously released "The Outfit" album, so stay tuned for those. Get familiar with Certified Outfit's "Down 2 Ride" below and check out their last project, "True Grit", afterwards.

Producer Jonathan Hay Apologizes to KXNG Crooked, Action Bronson, Statik Selektah

Jonathan Hay just made a public statement regarding the song "The Jerk" which he released taking shots at Action Bronson and Statik Selektah:

"I want to make a public apology to KXNG Crooked, Action Bronson, Statik Selektah and Vice Records for the skit I released earlier in the year called “The Jerk”. I’m very sorry to all of them. If you notice, I re-released the album, Deluxe: The Urban Hitchcock LP and the song “The Jerk” isn’t on there. I removed the skit and I’m completely embarrassed by it now, as it’s truly comedy gone bad.

I shouldn’t have made a parody of Action Bronson and Statik Selektah like I did. Honestly, the concept for the skit was me being a jerk… the ultimate jerk. I was inspired by Steve Martin‘s classic movie The Jerk. And I love inappropriate and offensive comedy, which is why I love Seth Rogen and Kevin Hart. I thought the skit I recorded would clearly be perceived as a parody because Action Bronson and Statik Selektah in a circle jerk together watching porn obviously never happened.

Even though nobody really heard “The Jerk”, the people who did hear it, didn’t look at it as funny at all. Quite the opposite really. KXNG Crooked, that many people know as Crooked I from Slaughterhouse, who’ve I done a lot of projects with, and someone I considered a very close friend… got extremely upset with me over it. Crook had just released the album “Statik KXNG” with Statik Selektah, so the timing of me releasing the skit was just bad. Looking back, that was a complete jerk move on my part. Action Bronson’s label Vice Records seemed upset with it too and went back and forth with my intern about the skit. That’s really embarrassing as I’m a huge fan of everything Vice. I’m also a fan of both Statik Selektah and Action Bronson.

The skit “The Jerk” is comedy gone bad. At that time, when I recorded it, I was going through a lot of emotional stuff and I remember drinking some Kentucky Bourbon and I started recording silly skits. I was just escaping through comedy while going through some really traumatic life stuff. With my family and closest friends, we all make fun, tease and roast each other. So if we are making fun of you, that only means we like you."

@BIANCACLARKE251 Drops Official Video for "Queen"

bianca-clarke-queen-promo-artwork

The industry has never seen such a diverse rapper, singer, songwriter, actress and business woman but Bianca Clarke has taken the state of Alabama by storm, building up the biggest organic buzz, the gulf coast region has witnessed, in several years. Delivering her second single "Queen," powered by a heavy bass line and signature southern piano melody, Bianca confidently sheds light on the current state of females in Hip-Hop, by capturing a much-needed unlady-like perspective. Bianca aggressively spits lyrics like "Hell wrong with these f*** ni**** didn't wanna show me no love, they mad cuz I done took over they mad cuz I'm above..." Bianca's direct message to her non-believers is accurately articulated throughout the record, giving the song a passionately undeniable connection.

Bianca Clarke performing live in Mobile, Alabama

Bianca Clarke is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper, born in Mobile, Alabama. She started her career in 2014, releasing her debut mixtape Triple Threat. Bianca Clarke gained recognition after several electric performances, well-received musical projects, and being the recipient of a total of 12 awards, given to her at four separate Alabama Music Award shows. Bianca always knew music was her calling and started honing her skills by singing in her local church’s choir. As a result of her love for all things music, she naturally started writing poems and her own songs. Throughout her youth, Bianca continued to listen to great artist such as Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, and Lil Wayne, which helped her to further understand the makings of a hit record. After graduating high school, Bianca decided she wanted to round out her musical skills by merging her natural talent with a formal education in the art of music.

In 2012, Bianca starting attending the Art Institute of Atlanta, where she studied music production and sound engineering. Quickly making a name for herself around the campus and amongst the audiophiles, Bianca decided it was time to put her life-long passion and skills to the test and pursue music 100%, as a professional recording artist. After just two years at the Art Institute of Atlanta, Bianca independently released Triple Threat, and instantly made a name for herself. Her record “Tattoo,” which was featured on the project, caught the ear of the music director at the Cumulus-owned radio station, 93BLX, in Mobile, Alabama, and was instantly added into rotation. With her record blasting on the airwaves and her name buzzing in the city, Bianca began to garner even more exposure, as she was labeled the “Rising Queen of Mobile” by the Alabama Register.

To follow up the success of her debut mixtape, Bianca headed back into the studio, to work on her next project, “Direct Message,” which she dropped in October of 2015. The release was met with high praise and once again became a local favorite receiving more acclaim than her previous release. Direct Message was teeming with hits, with two in particular, “Queen” and “Neva Know,” becoming instant street anthems and mainstays on Mobile’s own, 93BLX. The success of this release bolstered Bianca’s career and played a huge part in her being the exclusive opening act for female rap sensation, Dej Loaf, when she put on a show at the Soul Kitchen, in Mobile, AL. Bianca’s stage presence and energy caught the eye of Dollah Dae, owner of Splash Life Booking, who ended up signing Bianca to a booking agreement and giving her a major platform to showcase her one-of-kind talent.

This magical partnership has afforded Bianca to open up for some of the game's hottest stars like Chanel West Coast, Gucci Mane, and Boosie. In addition to single performances, Bianca was also the featured opening act during a 7-city tour run, headlined by female Hip-Hop legend, Trina. During a sold out show in Florida, Trina personally co-signed Bianca on stage and the two have since completed a few records, set to be released in the Fall of 2016.
Watch the video "Queen" below

Bianca is currently touring with Young Money Artists Baby E & Chanel West, while simultaneously recording new songs. Her motivation for making music remains to be life in general, the ups the downs, the pain, the struggle, the joy, the love & her family.

The Top 50 Hip-Hop/Rap Song of August 2016

audiomack-august-playlist

I scoured the depths of the Internets’ top music-hosting site, Audiomack, and I picked the best 50 songs from about 150 in consideration. I curated a streaming mix that spins smoothly right through — and not in order from best to worst. This month’s top-10 standouts are:
  1. The creative and comical yet socially conscious “Cam’ron Voice” from Uncle Murda, whose politicization I noted last month
  2. Two songs from SRFSCHL affiliate Danny Matos, whose LP with Rusty Mack and The Red Walrus produced a number of possible picks
  3. The triumphant return of Protest Music artist Lowkey of the UK
  4. Two flawless, jazzy and soulful collaborations between producer Apollo Brown and Skyzoo (who appears three times this month)
  5. The Hannibal King-blessed lead single from ‘Lightbulb Over My Head While I’m Thinking’ by Teck-Zillaand Kentucky’s Allen Poe
  6. Two (very different) appearances from Boston legend Akrobatik
  7. A posthumous classic from Sean Price, produced by the incredible DJ Skizz
  8. “Cops N Robbers” from Rhymefest, inspired by a harrowing personal story of being robbed at gunpoint and then treated like a criminal when reporting the crime to the Chicago Police Department
  9. MY summer anthem, “Summer Not Coming”, by SHIRT, who premiered the song live throughout NYC on a pickup truck with a big speaker in the back
  10. A song I just can’t get out of my head, “Plata O Plomo” by the City of Snow’s good-fella rapper Tone Atlas, featuring playlist regular Conway the Machine
Honorable Mention: With “NSFW”, Sa-Roc slays on behalf of women everywhere (she got the answers, Sway!)

Veronica (@BeingVeronica) - What Happened (New Music)

Veronica What Happened artwork

Former Disney starlet VERONICA is making waves with her new single "What Happened".

Oftentimes, the evolution of a pop star can seem a little too fabricated. Our minds question whether or not this newfound change is a tactic to reinvigorate one’s career, or if it’s at all genuine. It’s difficult to give attention to, and even more so embrace, the new music of an artist that seems entirely manufactured. When an artist’s evolution is natural, and in this case, a necessary advancement, it’s truly an exciting thing to witness. This is why Toronto’s own Veronica, is beginning to turn heads.

Veronica started her career as a teeny bopper. She was a charming, mini pop star, whose music videos were placed between shows on the Family Channel, a popular television station in Canada. Her bright-eyed persona was geared towards tweens, who tuned in every day after school and watched her sing on-screen. It was fruitful for a while. The gig garnered a loyal fanbase, and ultimately, allowed Veronica to tour and hone her skills. Behind the scenes, however, Veronica knew that she wasn’t like the demographic her music was constructed for. She has since admitted that she felt discouraged and unhappy during this time.

At the age of 18, Veronica left her Disney roots to pursue her passion independently. Now 20, Veronica is crafting the type of music that she’s wanted to her make entire life...her own music.

New Music: Flawless (@FlawlessRI) - Pressure 6

Flawless in black sweatshirt

Fresh off an unexpected viral whirlwind of his (2-year old) "Doctor" video on Facebook, Flawless releases his newest take on how he handles pressure: "PRESSURE 6". Flawless, a lyrical emcee hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, has been making music for his solid following of fans for a few years now. He's recently found an investor, started his own label (#TeamFlawless), and is ready to bring his music from the smallest state in the union to the world!

Just before Labor Day Weekend, his friends at Team Backpack randomly posted their favorite video by Flawless, "Doctor," on the Team Backpack Facebook page. That video spread organically, and within a few days had topped 5 million views. Flawless linked to it on his Facebook page a few days later and set it on a further whirlwind trip around Facebook acquiring another 3 million views.

Although the Doctor video is one of his older efforts, Pressure 6 is a new song that incorporates how pressure affects us all. Sharing this new song for the first time is Flawless, showing us how emotion and pressure can greatly affect one's life if you succumb to the Pressure....

@FlawlessRI on all social media: Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, Facebook and YouTube.
