After dropping the cinematic mini documentary for their EP effort "A Flight On Cloud9", the fellas of Cloud9Krew have been making strides within the PDX music scene. Having dropped the project's debut visual for "Let's Go Get It", the Krew was able to obtain an opening performance for the Portland leg of emcee Caskey's current tour. In high hopes of their achievements, the trio debut the second visual release for "They Already Know". The song speaks on the struggles of life both personally and as an upcoming artist while also speaking on dealing with loss of family. Bruce Parker comes to us by way of Dallas, Texas with his latest audio drop titled "RearView". The song focuses around a relationship gone wrong and working up the courage to walk away from the situation. Portland rapper, Mikey Vegaz, has steadily been dropping heat month after month. Following up on his "100 Bands" visual, MV returns with "The Story Of A King" produced by Buckmouth Beatz. Featuring the smooth vocals of Dominique Sounds, Mikey does what he does best, taking over the beat with vivid storytelling and crisp wordplay. The fellas of Cypha Den Music are back with a hard hitting loose single that proves beyond any doubt that the underground is alive and well. The song is called "Gutter Noise" and serves as a celebratory release as it features newly signed emcees, L. Majestic and Rambunxious. Together on one label, the squad has now expanded it's movement from Wisconsin to New York and overseas to Australia. Alongside frontman Taiyamo Denku, the trio fully illustrate their lyrical prowess over the abusive instrumental constructed by D-Cypha. The self described "Collab King" also handles the chorus duties and utilizes some tough backing vocals to land a knockout hook on feeble rappers. Illinois collective The Dirty 6 Thirty deliver a hyper release titled "100". They are offering it to fans and new listeners as a free download as an introduction to a long list of releases coming thru the year. The squad consists of recording artists Chris Hasty, Damien Prophet and Young Turtle. They are also joined by manager Tom Hinky and beat chemists, 905 Productions, and Third Eye Beats. On the song, Chris goes deep into a zone and gives off high energy. Damien feeds off the direction well and pencils some very clever lyrics. The song is also a precursor release for their official debut single produced by 905 Productions, "Shawty Duwop". I went through all the rap music uploaded to Audiomack in the month of June, picked out the 50 best songs, and created a playlist that flows from start to finish. Don’t let them tell you that Hip Hop is dead. We got beautiful genre-blending records, work from overseas in Africa, Europe and Latin America, a few throwbacks to the golden era, and even some protest music. Some of the artists, like De La Soul, Snoop Dogg and DMX, have been around for years, and some are new — proof that all hope isn’t lost. The top 10 highlights for me include:

Rising Urban Pop collective The Seal Breakers create musical murals with their songs. The group has a mature soul with a hip, young, contemporary attitude. Jonathan Russell is most known for his amazing talents as the vocalist in his own band, Stands With Fists. Stands With Fists has had a lot of independent success as well doing several huge events such as Knot Fest & KFMA’s Fall Ball just to name a few.
Jacob reached out to Jonathan back in July, with an idea and concept never before seen or done in Tucson.
